01 Roadworthy certificates
An Approved Inspection Station, on the main road through Babinda.
Selling a car, bringing one in from interstate, or putting an unregistered vehicle back on the road all need a safety certificate first. Ours is issued here. No round trip to Innisfail, no waiting on someone else's booking sheet.

02 What we do
Nine things, done properly, under one roof.
Everything below is work that happens at 27 Howard Kennedy Drive. We also carry a wide selection of batteries, caravan and 4x4 accessories in store, and battery testing is free.
Safety certificates and RWC
We are a Queensland Approved Inspection Station, so the roadworthy inspection and the certificate happen here in Babinda. Selling a car, or re registering one, gets sorted in a single visit.
General mechanical repairs
The everyday work a car needs to keep going: servicing, maintenance, and the repairs that turn up along the way. If we find something while your car is in, we ring you before we touch it.
Tyres, balancing and punctures
New tyres fitted and balanced, and puncture repairs while you wait. A flat on the highway between Innisfail and Cairns does not have to become a whole day.
4x4 repairs
Service and repair work on four wheel drives of every make and model, from the ute that works the cane to the tourer heading north to the Cape.
Brake, clutch, steering and suspension
The parts of a car that decide whether it stops and holds the road. Wet season tarmac and unsealed side roads are hard on all four, and we work on all four.
EFI diagnostics
Electronic fuel injection faults read properly with diagnostic gear rather than guessed at. A warning light gets a cause, not a parts lottery.
Driveline and trailer servicing
Driveline work on the car itself, plus servicing and repairs on trailers. Bearings, brakes, lights and couplings checked before a trip, not after one.
Car trailer hire and towing
Our own car trailer is available for hire, and we can arrange towing. Moving a project car, a non runner or a bike is one phone call.
03 Inside the shed
A country workshop that is not run like one.
Three two post hoists, a floor you could eat off, and diagnostic gear that reads the fault instead of guessing at it. It is a bigger, better equipped shed than a town of Babinda's size has any right to, and it means most jobs get finished here rather than sent up the highway.
We are a Penrite Service Centre, and we stock Optima and Delkor batteries. If you are not sure whether yours is on the way out, pull in and we will test it for nothing.

04 Trailers
We hire out our car trailer, and we can tow.
Most workshops will service a trailer. Fewer will lend you one. Ours is a tandem axle car trailer, available for hire, and it has moved a lot of project cars, non runners and bikes around the district.
We service and repair trailers too: bearings, brakes, lights and couplings, checked before a trip rather than after one. If the vehicle cannot be driven at all, talk to us about towing.

Babinda sits on the Bruce Highway at the foot of the range, so a fair few of our customers are on their way somewhere. Getting them back on the road the same day matters. So does looking after the locals who will be back next year.

06 Who we look after

We are car and 4x4 enthusiasts ourselves, which is usually obvious from whatever is parked out the front. There is somewhere proper to sit while you wait, and the kettle is on.
